I just deployed a Notification Server 7.6 in one site and i have been able to push the agents, run inventories,
and push patches to my windows servers successfully. Now i need to be able to manage servers in my second site in another state so i built a site server
and pushed the Monitor Service, Package Service, and the Task Service to that server in the other site. However when i try to
push the symantec management agent to the servers in the other site it fails. I have been looking through the manual and it suggests
that instead of a site server i need to deploy another notification server.
Questions:
- Can i push agents, and run inventories site servers or do i need to build another Notification server?
- If i want to keep the settings consistent do i need to setup parent/child hiearchy?
- Can i push the Notification server install from my current notification server and have everything configured for me? Or do i need to
install manually the way i built the first notification server and once its complete then i connect it to the primary Notification Server?
I was thinking even though i have multiple sites seperated by firewalls that i would only have one notification server and i would build site servers at other sites and have the site servers talk directly to the servers in that site.
