We're in the process of implementing Deployment Solution 7.6 and have run into sevral issues using it successfully with Macs.
We're trying to deploy a captured Mac image to a new Mac with a Fusion Drive (solid state drive and traditional hard drive combined as a logical volume in Core Stoage). Is this possible? What drive and partion number do you configure for the job in DS. If this is not possible with the standard deployment tasks in DS, is it possible to sccript a job using SymDeploMac with different command lines to accomplish this or other more advanced imaging tasks?
We would also like to image a Mac drive and maintain the Mac Recovery Partition. Standard imaging tasks seem to wipe out the Recovery Partition. Newer Macs seem to use Core Storage to set up the Recovery Partition and the OS volume is set up as a Logical Volume. The Recovery Partition is required in order to implement File Vault drive encryption. Currently we're using a convoluted post-imaging process to rebuild the Recovery Parition that isn't directly supported by Apple.
Any suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
