When I backup my local hard drives to other local hard drives and select Local\Disk\ToImage a source menu appears that list all my local drives and in the title bar at the top of the application to the right of Ghost32 11.5.1 there is a message that says click on the drive you want to be the source for the image file you wish to create.
In looking at the lists of drives the drives model number is listed but there are no logical letter references nor are the volume label references in the source menu. I have several WD 80GB hard drives and I not able to tell them apart from the source menu. The drives are not listed in the source menu in the same order as listed in Windows Explorer by the logical driver letter or label name. I tried to drill down on the drives in source menu but no other information was available. I noticed the drive labels are referenced in the destination drop down menu where you select and name and where the ghost image file is to be saved but the drives model numbers are not listed in the destination drop down menu like they are in the source menu so there is no way to do a cross reference from the drop down menu using the label and driver model number to reference the drive back to the drive listed by its model number in the source menu.
To resolve the problem I used Windows Explorer and the drive properties in the device manager to reference the drive’s model number by having properties populate the volume information on the volume tab where the drives logical letter and model number are listed. From the volume tabs under properites in the device manager I created a list of my drives on a sheet of paper that includes the drives logical letter, label name and model number which I refer to when I back my drives up booting from WinPE to Ghost32.
Is there away to see the logical drive references or labels in the source menu or some other way to keep up with the drives in Ghost32 as referenced in Windows?
Sincerely,
Mark
