I installed DS 6.9.6 and the ADK for Windows 8 (WinPE 4.0) on a 2008 R2 server in my test environment. Computers using legacy BIOS settings seem to work fine with an embedded partition (Windows 7 and 8). When it comes to Windows 8 with UEFI enabled, I cannot get an automation partition installed. I get an error in the bwinst.log saying, "Not enough free space in partition C for embedded partition."
I have tried adding various optional WinPE packages and it does not make a difference. UAC is set to its lowest setting, Windows was activated via KMS, remote registry service is active, and the local Admin account is active with a password.
{BTW – If you add optional packages, you may need to increase the install package over the 305 mb suggested threshold for the install packages. Look at the size of the finished install package and if it is larger than what you specified, it will not install properly.}
The Product Guide provided under Help is for 6.9.5 and I do not see an updated guide for 6.9.6 anywhere.
We are not using PXE in our production environment so that is not an option for us.
Am I missing something? Thank you for any suggestions!
