I need a solution
Hey all,
I'm needing some help with the uninstall of Java 7 update 40. Here is what happened:
- Java 7 update 40 was sent out as a software RELEASE. The Symantec Mangement Agent reported the install as successful. The application requiring the updated version of Java now works. However, other sites requiring Java no longer worked. Indeed, clicking Java in the control panel reports "Application not found"
- Running the software release uninstall -no UI displays a RunDLL error "There was a problem starting c:\program files\java\jre7\bin\\installer.dll The specified module could not be found." Clicking OK to this error finished the uninstall successfully.
- Then sending the Java 7 update 40 as a software UPDATE runs successfully and Java is actually installed and functional.
So my question is, how do I do an unattended uninstall of the Java 7 RELEASE (step 2)? I do not want to remote in to numerous to click OK to the uninstall error but I'm kind of new at SMP and need advice.
Thanks,
Shauna
