Booted up via InitialAutomationEnv.iso, now what?

I need a solution

Environment: DS 7.1 SP2 MP1

We've been using SMP 7.1 for patching and software deployments for about two years, with great success, and are now trying to get Deployment Solution working. I'm a real newbie to all of this and have been reading/viewing as much as I can, including the "Architecture and Dataflow" doc and PIAT vids.

Anyway, I've created a bootable USB thumb drive using InitialAutomationEnv.iso and Rufus. It works successfully to boot up a system and I can see everything working fine - network initializing, drivers loading, etc., and can see the Deployment Solution screen. I can ping our single SMP server and local Deployment Site Server via hostname and everything looks good from that perspective.

However, I'm not seeing the initial deployment menu, which consists solely of two tasks, both just slightly different one line VBScripts displaying "hello world."

And, I'm not seeing the hostname of the booted machine (minint-h7h37jc) in Manage~Computers. Am I supposed to?

I'm doing all of this because PXE is not a viable solution for us and I need a way to deploy an image to a system with no OS.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
