Active Directory Import/Cleanup with NS7.5 to install Agent automatically

I need a solution

Hi guys,

We are installing now the Symantec Management Agent by script after installing the Windows 7 on new computers.

Now I found out that NS does not cleanup them by the Active Directory Cleanup Schedule, because they are not imported by the AD Import Rule.

They only will be cleaned up by Purging Maintainance.

I want to keep clean my license count to the count of computers (PCs) we have in Active Directory.

So my idea to keep my NS clean is to change the automatic install.

I want to import the computers only by NS with the AD Import Rule. After it was imported it should get SMA installed.

When the computer is deleted in Active Directory it should also delete it from NS.

Also when the computer is renamed.

Is this a good idea, or is our installing method we did until now better?

When I minimize the purging maintance time to retire a computer from 6 months to e.g. 1 month, does a computer which was e.g. on holiday, etc. and he talks again to my NS get his old policies and settings, or are they lost?

How do you install computers, what's your Best Practice?

Thanks for your ideas.

BR, David
