I am really happy that Symantec decided to keep DS 6.9 alive (with new Name). I have been sucessfully using DS 6.9 for last 7 years in 15,000 multi-site enviornment. I am hoping that GS 3.0 can resolve some minor issues.
Issue : I have 35 deployment servers offering four flvaors of images (laptop, desktop, developer and clinic image). Each master imaging folder contains individual imaging tasks (Windows 7, Office 2010... etc....). I have seen technicians move or delete imaging tasks by mistake when they drag and drop using DS console and there is no alerting mechanism. I wish I can use "Initial Deployment" feature and offer master imaging folder so that there is no need for technecians to use DS console. My understaing is that you can only add indivual imaging tasks not folders to "Initial Deployment". I have GSS 3.0 running in my lab but I do not see any changes made in initial deployment or DS console security.
