Time Sensitive: Altiris HelpDesk 6.x still on Windows 2003 (EOL)

We are still using the Altiris HelpDesk 6.x solution installed on a Windows 2003 server.  However, with the end of life deadline looming, we need to move it to at least a windows 2008 server.  i've read on the forum that the windows 2008R2 will not work, but what about just Windows 2008?  We've migrated all of the other Altiris components (asset mgmt, inventory, patch, etc.) over to 7.1 except for the HelpDesk solution. Has anyone had success in installing HelpDesk Solution onto Microsoft 2008 server?

I've seen referenced a support matrix pdf, but can't identify which section refers to the HelpDesk 6.x specifically?
