I am new to Ghost Solution Suite and cannot seem to figure out how to do what I used to do with Norton Ghost 14. With Norton Ghost 14, I had my computer set up to automatically do incremental and full backups to a local external drive (USB connected). Each day at the designated time it would automatically run and perform the appropriate backup.
Ghost Solution Suite offers so many features and seems so complex that I cannot figure out what to install and what to run to do the same simple operation. My computer is on a network with other computers and it is crucial that the software do not even attempt to look on the network. It must be totally local to this one machine. The documentation is of no help to me here because for a standalone machine it tells you to boot to DOS and use the DOS version. That all requires rebooting the machine and manual intervention. That is not what I am looking to do at all. I am looking to do simple, daily image backups (partial and full) while the machine is still in windows and it often unattended. I've searched through the documentation but how to do this simple operation and keeping the software away from the local network seems to be eluding me. I wasn't an expert with Ghost 14 and I don't expect to become an expert with GSS. So I am hoping one of you experts out there can tell me how to achive this simple task using the lastest version of GSS.
