Problems creating filers / deploying policies with dependencies

I need a solution

Hi, We're new to v7.5 of the console.

previously we've had 6.x (I say previously we still have this and want to migrate everything to 7.5)

We've had someone in to set up the pilot, but they have gone and I'm having problems with a couple of things

Previously we've had collections where for example it would be populated using the query option and resource type "Computer" and the filter type would be looking at (table) Inv_AeX_OS_Add_Remove_Programs and "name like" %Software we want%

Likewise we would have other collections which may look at (Table) Inv_AeX_AC_NT_Services with name = %service we're looking for%

Or using these querys / tables, finding computers with specific file names / locations

How would I create similar filters in 7.5? Because various people will be need to look at Altiris to get this type of info, I'm trying to recreate a similar look on the new version.

2 question - I've created a policy with dependies to another piece of software, and also an update task. They are all checked on the policy tasks.

On the client machines, for that 1 peice of software, the dependency task, the main software task, and the patch, all appear as 3 Pre-download detection tasks, along with an applicability check, then the 3 tasks to download and excecute the installs for them all.

However if I run the softwar install task, only the 3 pre-download detection and applicability tasks run (and coming back as not dectected) It doesn't progress to downloading or even excecuting the installs.

What am I missing?

Many Thanks in Advance,
