Automatically assign incidents to problem tickets

I need a solution

Scenario:

We have incidents that are automatically generated from incoming e-mail alerts. We might see 100 incidents in one day that all map in to the same problem ticket.

 

Goal:

We want to associate incoming incidents that match a certain criteria to existing problem tickets.

 

Question:

Is there a feature, function or plug-in that would automatically assign new incidents to existing problem tickets? How would you handle this situation?
