ServiceDesk support for MS Server 2012/2012R2 host

I need a solution

We have an older, ricketty ITMS 7.1 system in production running by some higher power, certainly not due to my prowess. I inherited it at 7.0 and with a lot of nudging by a consultant, go it to 7.1. We still use our HelpDesk 6.9 system daily, as the bane of IT Support's exitence and woud like to step into a new decade with a total upgrade to ITMS 7.5 SP1 and ServiceDesk 7.5 MP1. Saving old HelpDesk data is not needed.

 

Ideally we'd like to use the latest Host software possible; I had started a few virtual 2008R2 boxes, but when I read about ITMS supporting 2012R2 I scrapped them. I hadn't done anything to them other than patches - and they're virtual, so no biggie. I was hoping that ServiceDesk moved in lockstep, but apparently not. Any ideas on when this would occur, like next upgrade cycle? If so, I'll wait and focus on ITMS Solutions, otherwise ServiceDesk is our main motivator here, so I'll need to press on at 2008R2 SP1. Thanks.
