I want to do SOI installs of Linux Distributions than is not officially supported.
Currently it is mainly CentOS and Ubuntu that I need to add SOI installs for.
I want help with how to create a SOI installation in Altiris for CentOS and Ubuntu, both supports unattended installs but I have not found a way to kickstart it from within Altiris.
I can think of a few ways to do this:
- The best way as I see it is to be able to copy/edit/add(/delete) OS Flavors directly in the Console, but that seems to far-fetched at the moment but a grate feature to be added in Altiris.
- Create a script that can be run on a remote pxe booted server
- Create a pxe boot image that installs the target system.
In this comment there is a hint that it is possible but sadly no information on how...
