Stay with Altiris or move on?

I'm at the point with my DS 6.9 system on server 2003 that I need to make a move. I'm not sure which path might be the best, so I'm asking for your advice.

1) Build a new 2008/2012 server, install DS 6.9 and migrate data, images, etc.

      How much longer will Symantec support 6.9?

2) Build a new 2008/2012 server, install 7.5 and migrate data, images, etc.

      I see several eye-opener problems with 7.5 that have been resolved with hotfixes...this causes concern.

3) Go with a different vendor/solution altogether.

      I appreciate that choice 3 might be controversial in this forum, but based on the issues with 7.x it's a real consideration.
