Use Existing Credentials

I'm very new to workflow.  I have been able to create forms and create resources on the SMP using the forms data.  So far I'm either using a sign on page or a static user name and password.  Is there some way to use the existing credentials in Workflow?  Something like a single sign using using the cached credentials.
