Here is our process that has always worked in the past:
1. Build Windows 7 image.
2. Create image by connecting a laptop running Windows Server 08 to PC, booting to MSDOS bootable Ghost flashdrive, using spanning.
3. Restore image over network to 10 PCs at a time.
This has worked on hundreds of computers so far, but with our new shipment of Lenovos, the restoring process always freezes at random percentages (never over 50% though.) To get it working temporarily, we have been creating an unspanned image and saving it to an external HD, then restoring it from there.
So far we have tried using WinPE bootable drives, and switching SATA operation from AHCI to IDE, and it still freezes. Has anyone ever experienced this? I'm thinking it may just be a BIOS setting in these new computers because it never stops at the same percentage, and its not like it can't find the next span, it always gets past the first few no problem. Thanks for any help!
EDIT: To clarify, when it freezes, the ghostcast just stops, and no error messages are displayed.
