After an MBSA scan of several computers in our environment, we found that one piece of the MS08-069 update was not installed on the computers. (The KB954430 portion). So, I went into Patch Management (Running 7.5, HF2) and enabled a policy for MS08-069, downloading and staging all components of it.
After a week or so, I ran MBSA against another few computers and found it was missing the msxml4-KB954430. WHAT? How can this be? I enabled it a week ago, and SURELY it should have it by now.
Alas, the msxml4-KB954430 part of the MS08-069 was disabled again. I figure something is malfunctioning with the "disable all superseded software updates" option.
If I enable the msxml4-KB954430 portion of MS08-069, it will roll out that day to computers missing it, but then after PMImport, it's disabled again.
This must be a bug. This update, according to Microsoft, is NOT superseded by anything.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
