I've just installed 7.5 HF3 in the two servers I have in my lab, and saw that the Altiris agent installed in both is in version 7.5.1673, which is correct, but I also saw that most of the plugins were still in version 7.1
I activated the upgrade policies for all of them, with no effect. I then realized that the Software Management Framework Agent was not registered. I saw the folder with the dlls in <Installation Folder>\Altiris Agent\Agents\SoftwareManagement, and I executed regsvr32 SMFAgent.dll for registering the pluging. With this, I finally got the upgrade policies to get to the agent, and got the plugins updated to 7.5...
The issue is that the Software Management Framework Agent is in version 7.1
I've been looking for information about how to upgrade this agent, but it seems that it is linked to the Altiris Agent, so the only option seems to be to reinstall the Altiris Agent itself.
Is it safe to reinstall the Altiris Agent in a NS? I've read that it is not a recommended action.
